Samsung has jumped into the tablet market with the now official Galaxy Tab. Samsung today announced the launch of the Samsung GALAXY Tab (Model: GT-P1000). Powered by Android Operating System 2.2, the Samsung GALAXY Tab is the first of the company’s tablet devices, representing a new category of mobile products for Samsung.

T-Mobile's G2 photos leaked

There has been a lot of buzz around about T-Mobile's first HSPA+ phone, the G2 (HTC Desire Z). Now we have some leaked pics that were apparently found on T-Mobile's servers. Several sites have been publishing these photos of the upcoming G2

Saumsung Epic 4G launching on Sprint tomorrow

If you've been anxiously awaiting the second 4G phone to drop on Sprint, tomorrow is your big day. The Samsung Epic 4G will launch on Sprint tomorrow. Sprint says that most stores will open at 8 am to accommodate the rush for this phone.
The Epic 4G is the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S. The Sprint version features a slide out QWERTY keyboard and some pretty nice specs.

Motorola Charm available at T-Mobile today

The Motorola Charm is now available for purchase on T-Mobile. The Charm is the first QWERTY BlackBerry-like Android device, and I have to say it looks a little weird. For some reason Android just seems like a full screen OS and having a keyboard taking up half the screen just doesn't seem right.
T-Mobile is selling the Charm for $74.99 with a 2-year contract.

Dell Aero Android 1.5 phone on sale today

Dell has jumped into the Android phone market and is offering their own phone, the "Aero," for sale today. You can pick yours up for $99 on contract with AT&T. The phone is still listed as "coming soon" on AT&T's website, but you can get it through Dell.

If you are a Samsung Galaxy X owner who finds Samsung's implementation of TouchWiz a bit goofy, you may be able to get stock Android 2.1 running on your Galaxy S. Check out this video of stock Android running on the Galaxy X. There are some issues right now, especially with the camera not working, but I'm sure they'll work that out sometime soon. Android 2.2 update for the Droid X leaked

If you're a Droid X user today may be your lucky day. The Android 2.2 update for the Droid X has leaked to the My DROID World Forums. They've provided the update in zip format so all you have to do is pop it on your microsd card and run it. All data on your device will be wiped of course, but what a small price to pay to get Froyo on your Droid X.
All reports so far are that the Droid X seems faster with the update.

Sprint EVO Froyo Calendar Bug

It looks like the Sprint EVO running Froyo has a major calendar bug. The bug affects users who put text in the description field of an event. Everything looks fine until you go into edit the event. Any change made to the event will delete the text in the "description" field and replace it with text from the "where" field. Is that lame or what?

Display smudge may give away your Android unlock pattern

A recent security research report by the University of Pennsylvania says Android users could be giving away their unlock patterns by leaving of trails of oil from their fingers on the phone's display. Did we really need a research report to tell us that?
The report says that even after the display comes in contact with clothing, the "smudge attack" can be successful because sometimes partial patterns are left behind.

Samsung will supposedly unveil their first Android tablet based on the Galaxy S next month. JoongAng Daily says they have an unnamed "high-ranking official" at the company that let the cat out of the bag. JoongAng Daily reports that Samsung will unveil the Android tablet in Berlin at the IFA consumer electronics show September 3-8.

The Motorola Droid 2 is now official. No more leaked photos and rumored specs to go over. You should be able to pick up a Droid this week as they go on sale tomorrow.
While the original Droid is getting the Froyo update treatment the Droid 2 looks much better and may be worth the upgrade.
