Motorola Charm available at T-Mobile today
News - August 25, 2010 - 0 Comments
The Motorola Charm is now available for purchase on T-Mobile. The Charm is the first QWERTY BlackBerry-like Android device, and I have to say it looks a little weird. For some reason Android just seems like a full screen OS and having a keyboard taking up half the screen just doesn't seem right. T-Mobile is selling the Charm for $74.99 with a 2-year contract. The Charm is a quad-band GSM, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, phone. It runs the Motorola Blur Android customization. It sports a 3 megapixel came...read more

Dell has jumped into the Android phone market and is offering their own phone, the "Aero," for sale today. You can pick yours up for $99 on contract with AT&T. The phone is still listed as "coming soon" on AT&T's website, but you can get it through Dell. The weird thing here is that the Aero is running Android 1.5. Who would buy an Android 1.5 handset when we're all the way up to version 2.2? Dell says they've done a lot of customizing of the Android 1.5 device and it even includes handwrit...read more

Sprint EVO Froyo Calendar Bug
News - August 16, 2010 - 0 Comments
It looks like the Sprint EVO running Froyo has a major calendar bug. The bug affects users who put text in the description field of an event. Everything looks fine until you go into edit the event. Any change made to the event will delete the text in the "description" field and replace it with text from the "where" field. Is that lame or what? Check out the video for a demonstration of the bug. Nasty! Let's hope a fix is released soon....read more

Display smudge may give away your Android unlock pattern
News - August 16, 2010 - 0 Comments
A recent security research report by the University of Pennsylvania says Android users could be giving away their unlock patterns by leaving of trails of oil from their fingers on the phone's display. Did we really need a research report to tell us that? The report says that even after the display comes in contact with clothing, the "smudge attack" can be successful because sometimes partial patterns are left behind. If you're worried about losing your phone and getting smudge attacked, ju...read more

News - August 12, 2010 - 0 Comments
Google has launched a Chrome to Phone extension for Google Chrome. The extension allows you to search for things on your desktop computer, and immediately send them to your Android handset. Whether you're looking for web pages, maps, phone numbers, videos, or directions, you can immediately send it to your Android phone. The beauty of it is that it does not rely on tethering. You do it all OTA. There is one catch with Chrome to Phone. You have to have Android 2.2 installed on your device so...read more

Android vs iPhone - Which one should I get?
Hardware Reviews - August 10, 2010 - 0 Comments
As Google sells more and more Android phones, and the Android Market gathers more and more apps, the question becomes more pressing. Android or iPhone? They're both great platforms and the answer has nothing to do with one being better than the other. Apple has a head start in the smartphone game because they launched the iPhone 3 years ago. Sure there were lots of Windows and Palm based smartphones before 2007, but the popularity of the devices just wasn't there yet. Apple convinced a bunc...read more
